Position: CNC Machinist
Primary Purpose:

Correctly operate assigned machines to produce high quality parts while meeting or exceeding productivity expectations. Reports to designated supervisor or lead.

Duties: Primary Functions of the Position
  • Set up, operate and perform daily inspections of numerically controlled and multi-axis machining centers, including understanding machine programs.

  • Read and understand process sheets, blueprints and sketches to determine dimensional specifications and operating requirements.

  • Effectively use calipers, micrometers and other measurement devices to inspect parts.

  • Identify and inspect raw material to ensure correct size and material type.

  • Inspect resulting product using micrometers, precision dial gauges and other measurement tools to ensure parts are ready and appropriate for the next process in the workflow.

  • Troubleshoot and resolve issues.

  • Discuss software errors with developers and/or recommends changes to programs.

  • Communicates with software and hardware vendors to request service regarding defective products.

  • Pull and terminate Ethernet cables as needed.

  • Tests software and hardware to evaluate ease of use and whether it will aid user in performing work.

Essential Qualifications and Skills:
  • High school diploma or General Educational Development (GED).

  • Previous manufacturing or machine assembly experience preferred.

  • General computer skills; experience with Microsoft applications (Word, Excel, Outlook, etc.).

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

  • Able to read and interpret engineering prints, including making accurate measurements.

  • Documentation of a current drug screen must be provided prior to start date.
