Accuracy and precision during tube entry and exit ensure that tubes are expanded uniformly, and fins remain unharmed. Higher production rates are made possible by the short cycle time. The coil lift and eject systems assist in operator safety and ergonomics. Oak Expanders come in all sizes, from single tube expanders to large horizontal expanders for your largest coils. We offer many options to customize your expander to your specific production requirements.

The Vertical Mechanical Expander is designed specifically for the production of high-quality heat exchanger coils. Its short cycle time allows for both mass production environments and flexible, short run situations. The Vertical Expander can be customized in many ways. A standard expander package may include the following: Compact Design, Standard Lift with Fixed Enclosures, Self-Storing Backplates, Rod Short-Out System, Final Expander Support Mechanism, Coil Eject, Hydraulic Cooling System (Oil to Air).

Hand Loaded Coil Enclosure Allows quick and efficient loading of coils into the expander.

 

Standard or Heavy Duty Lift Assembly with Fixed or Door Coil Enclosures Allows coils presented in the horizontal plane to the mechanical expander to be raised to a vertical position for expansion.

 

Self-Storing Back Plates w/ Powered Height Positioning Automatically selects the appropriate back plate arrangement in the expander to process a coil. No manual adjustment necessary.

    Vertical Expander Auto Row Adjust for Lift Automatically positions the coil lift for correct number of rows.

     

    Backplate / Frontplate Sync Mechanism Allows the enclosure plates to lower with the expansion of the coil, as well as provides more support and better coil alignment.

     

    Vertical Expander Coil Collapse Detector Detects a coil collapsing during expansion, helping to prevent damage to expander rods and other components of the vertical expander.

     

    Vertical Expander Stripper Plate Camera Gives the operator the ability to view the top of the heat exchanger through a monitor at floor level.
