Fin Line

The OAK 1400 Fin Line

1400_small

The FP-1400 from Burr Oak Tool delivers. This high performance press and line for the heat transfer industry has a 160 ton (1400kN) rating for increased manufacturing capacity.

Extensive solid modeling performed in the design stage and added weight optimizes press rigidity, resulting in more consistent product output.

Higher tensile fin stocks and more holes won’t deter or slow down the 1400. Thicker materials common in refrigeration become easier to manipulate and form with the greater tonnage capacity.

The dynamically balanced platform minimizes vibrations, ensuring accuracy even at higher press speeds. Not only will production output increase, fin stacking is also enhanced as press movement decreases.

A 160 ton rating makes the size and strength of the Oak 1400 press and line obvious. But you will notice that something is missing: the mechanical progression changer. The new electronic servo-feed allows easier access to the left side of the press and die, and centers and balances the forces on the feed shaft. It also allows the press operator to program the fin length from the touch screen on the control panel.

Size, strength, stability, and now, simplicity – all in one package.

Standard Machine Components

Hydraulic Withdraw Allows access to the inner tooling of the fin stamping die without removing the die from the press.

Uncoiling System

This uncoiler, of the pinch roll feed type, maintains a free stock loop paying into the press. It is controlled by a photo-electric sensor to coincide with the press operating speed.

>> More Information

Die Lubrication System Provides lubricant to the fin die.

Suction Unit The current upper suction unit is 3 horsepower with variable speed drive. Double units are available for extreme material and part design.

Stacker Unit

As fins are manufactured and dropped to the fin stacker, the Programmable Logic Controller (PLC) counts fins and stops the press when a predetermined amount of fins have been created. Various types of fin stackers are available to suit your needs.

>> Rotary Stacker
>> Shuttle Stacker
>> Cart Stacker

Machine Capabilities

Fin Lengths 1" - 108" (25mm to 2742mm)

Maximum Fin Width 46" (1170mm)

Shut Height 9" (229mm) to 13" (330.5mm)

Additional Options

We offer an extensive line of options to meet your specific fin production needs, including:

Die Pierce Punch Lubrication System Recommended for additional lubrication to the pierce punches and dies.

Die Enhancement Lubrication System Recommended for additional lubrication to the enhancement punches and dies.

Standard Fin Die Injector Lubrication System May be included as an alternative to both the Pierce Punch and Enhancement Lubrication Systems.

Fin Stock Lacer and Guide This device laces the new material strip through the die by push button control. It then functions as a stock guide.

Single Row Fin Options Single row fins have unique characteristics that require special suction and fin stacker unit options.

Moving Suction Sheet

Fin Die Auto Slit Selector Mechanism This automatic system is used to determine the needed adjustment to the die slitter blades from various row productions in less than 1 minute. This works in conjunction with the fin die.

Fin Die Auto Edge Trim Selector Mechanism This mechanism actuates the quick adjustment of the die edge trim blades to match stock width requirements.

Fin Die Take Out System For quick and easy removal of the die from the press.

Fin Line Scrap Transfer Conveyor System This option uses a conveyor system to collect the material discarded during press operation.

Fin Line Scrap Collector System This system is used to collect the material discarded during press operation.

Fin Press Vibration Isolators This option isolates the press from the floor to reduce vibration. It also provides support and levels the machine. The vibration isolators also allow the press to be relocated in your facility with minimal foundation preparation.
